Jim Payne began working at First State Bank & Trust Company in January, 1967.  He currently serves as the Chairman of the Board and CEO. He is a member of Graduate Class XXII of Southwestern Graduate School of Banking at SMU in 1981.  He is married to Sandra Roe Payne and they have two daughters - Nelda Elizabeth (Betsy) Payne Cooney who is married to husband Brian Cooney and Julie Payne Turner who is married to husband John Turner.  They have 3 granddaughters - Finley Roe Cooney , Ivy Elizabeth Cooney and Ella Kate Turner.
